Blue Floral Cast Iron Teapot, 34-Ounce, Blue Floral

List price: $27.08 Price: $26.78 Buy Now

Features:
  • BEAUTIFUL AESTHETIC: Professionally crafted with a gorgeous cobalt blue floral pattern reminiscent of Japanese cherry blossoms, Primula's Cast Iron Teapot is as much decoration, centerpiece, and conversation starter as it is a superior brewing device.
  • CAST IRON BREWING: One of the most common materials when crafting teapots, cast iron is beneficial due to the way it evenly absorbs heat. The gradual and even heating from the cast iron infuses the greatest amount of flavor from the tea leaves into the water. This strengthens the flavor of the tea, and any positive nutrients the leaves contain are also infused into the water. Cast iron also retains heat much better than any other material.
  • MASTERFUL DESIGN: In addition to its excellent heat retention, our Cast Iron Teapot features a fully enameled interior that not only makes cleaning easier, but helps to prevent the build-up of rust and oxidation. It includes a stainless steel infuser for loose or bagged tea that ensures it will not alter or detract from the taste of your brew.

Mariage Frères French Tea

Published by Flammarion-Pere Castor 2003

ISBN
240 pages

In this refined volume, Mariage Freres, importers of tea into France since 1854, offer their definitive version of the art of tea, making this essential reading for all those who are unable resist the temptation of a fragrant cup of tea accompanied by a flaky pastry. When Richard Bueno and Kitti Cha Sangmanee bought the well-respected Parisian firm in the early eighties, they expanded the business and gave it a radically new dimension by inventing the French art of tea. To do so they sought out the best tea buds from all four corners of the globe and introduced their clientele to many new exotic tastes including green teas from Japan, white teas from China, and First Flush Darjeelings. Mariage Freres recognize though that tea is about more than just a satisfying drink - it is an...

163/365 - Tetsubin
A Japanese cast iron teapot, or tetsubin, with a "hobnail" pattern. I bought this for my wife a number of years ago, back when we would have a nice leisurely spot of tea on occasion, although we rarely have time to sit down and brew a leisurely pot of anything these days. I wanted to try to keep it simple tonight, but I still spent longer than I planned, mostly because I wanted to get steam rising out of the spout, but I just couldn't convince steam to come out of the spout no matter how much steam rose out of the lid when I opened it. Go figure. Tomorrow's going to be tricky, since I'm spending the entire day and most of my evening at a conference my company is running, and everything there is confidential. The conference is right next to the Charles River, though, so I'm hoping I might be able to sneak outside at some point and get a shot or two in, but it's going to be tricky.
